Take a meaningful step toward strengthening your ability to support the mental wellbeing of children and adolescents.

CAMHI SA is collaborating with local NGOs, young people and local and international experts to develop effective training materials that enhance the competency of professionals and lay people to promote the mental health of the children under their care.

Who is the training for?

Our mental wellbeing training programs are designed for use across a range of community-based settings, including NGOs, schools, and healthcare environments.

These programs are intended to complement and enhance services and programmes that are already being offered by organisations working in this space.

We are currently co-producing and evaluating evidence-based, comprehensive, flexible, competency-based training resources for:

People working in community-based organisations and NGOs that provide services and programmes to children and/or adolescents.
People working in schools and educational environments, including educators, administrators, and policy makers.

Health Professionals, including nurses, social workers, psychologists, doctors and medical specialists.

Once developed and evaluated, these training resources will be available here.

Grounded in culturally relevant, evidence-based early intervention and low-intensity approaches, our courses provide targeted insights and practical tools to enhance professionals’ ability to support youth effectively.

NGOs will receive both skills training and supervision structures that empower staff to select and deliver appropriate brief interventions that support children’s and young people’s well-being.
A competency framework was co-created to establish the essential skills required at different levels of service delivery. This framework fosters a shared understanding of the competencies that staff should develop at each stage. The four levels of competency are Universal, Applied, Enhanced and Advanced.

Our training equips professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to create meaningful, lasting change in the lives of children and adolescents.
